        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Former NFL quarterback Tarvaris Jackson died in a car accident Sunday night in Alabama, NFL Network reported Monday.</p><p>Jackson, who was about to begin his second season as quarterbacks coach for Tennessee State, was 36.</p><p>The former second-round (64th overall) pick out of Alabama State in 2006 played the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Vikings. He signed a two-year contract with the Seahawks in 2011 before getting traded to the Bills a year later.</p><p>Jackson then rejoined the Seahawks in June 2013 and was Russell Wilson&#8217;s backup on the team that crushed the Broncos in XLVIII. Jackson came into the game in mop-duty in the 43-8 Seahawks rout.</p><p>&#8220;TJack&#8230; you will be missed. Praying for your family&#8230;Love you man,&#8221; Wilson tweeted on Monday morning.</p><p>Jackson played 10 seasons in the NFL, retiring after the 2015 season.</p><p>After taking a graduate assistant role at his alma mater in 2018, Jackson was named quarterbacks coach for Tennessee State in 2019.</p>]]></content:encoded>
