“The Tucci Cookbook” author, 59, took to Instagram Live on Tuesday to show off some of his bartending abilities after promising his wife Felicity Blunt — sister to actress Emily Blunt — a Negroni.

With the sounds of smooth jazz being played in the background, Tucci, who recently signed on to host a culinary documentary series with CNN, led followers through the steps needed to make the signature cocktail.

The video, which has taken Twitter and Instagram by storm, has many fans praising Tucci.

One fan commented, “Imagine you’re in quarantine with Stanley Tucci and he’s making you a Negroni while being the last man in the world to wear real pants AND a belt AND a watch all at the SAME TIME.”

Another follower, however, was less impressed with Tucci’s skills as a barman. “You guys are all focused on the wrong thing. He BUTCHERED that Negroni.”

Indeed, many die-hard mixologists took Tucci to task for his twist on the Negroni recipe. While the normal recipe for a Negroni calls for equal amounts of gin, vermouth and Campari, Tucci added more gin to make it stronger.

Replicating Tucci’s recipe led one journalist to remark, the mix left “a bitter taste in their mouth.”
