Jennifer Lopez could give the Mets a much-needed makeover.

As the race to buy the team goes into overdrive, entertainment insiders say bidders J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez would add a missing ingredient to Citi Field the others can’t offer — glamour.

A source said Lopez would do for the Mets what Jay-Z did for the Nets in 2012, when he helped launch that team in Brooklyn and “made it cool to go to Barclays Center.” (He also chose the team’s logo and colors.)

“Forget about any other owner, or even any player. One thing Jennifer has is the No. 1 social media following,” pointed out a sports source.

Lopez is the No. 15 most-followed celebrity on Instagram, with 126 million followers, more than Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus.

The source added of J.Lo and any potential stars and entertainment at Citi Field that would follow, “They’d leave no stone unturned. It’s going to be an entertainment experience.”

The difference between Lopez and Jay-Z is that she’d have a much bigger stake in the team with A-Rod. The couple’s reportedly putting up around $300 million of their own money and would be controlling partners.

Jay-Z sold off his shares for about $1.5 million when he launched a sports-management firm.

The source added that Lopez would bring in a different fan base, citing her star appeal, and that she and Rodriguez would be Latino owners in a field of white men. “Someone like Jennifer brings so much to the games, and MLB needs that right now,” said the insider.

While the Yankees have always attracted a starrier crowd, the Mets’ idea of excitement has historically been that Home Run Apple in center field. (We can only imagine what J.Lo could do to jazz up Mr. Met.)

A-Rod and J.Lo are vying for the team with a group that now includes NFL stars Brian Urlacher, Travis Kelce and DeMarco Murray. They’re up against billionaire Steve Cohen, plus a group headed by Josh Harris and David Blitzer that just added Sheldon Adelson.
