Selma Blair posted a loving tribute to her late mother, Molly Cooke, who died at home in Michigan over the weekend at age 82.

Describing Cooke as “formidable, funny, quick, striking and generous,” Blair wrote about her mom’s unselfish attitude and her career as a judge.

“She often gave the shirt off her back, a trait I have adopted. Gifts of herself. My mother was a brilliant judge and one of the only women [sic] in her law school class,” Blair wrote alongside an old photo of Cooke on her wedding day.

“She was my first style icon, my muse, my prize. My whole life, I kept my eye on the prize. And, now, it is a very queer feeling to soften my gaze.”

The “Cruel Intentions” star, 47, said her mom had “many friends and admirers” and an expansive family, including Blair’s son, Arthur.

“Our lives will never be the same. Mom, Arthur understood you so sweetly and I am grateful and pleased you loved him,” Blair, who is battling multiple sclerosis, continued.

“Thank you for your love, your loyalty. Usually, it is when us girls are Together as sisters, when we can better show what an original you were, Mom. A great.”

Cooke graduated from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law and worked as a lawyer for more than 50 years, according to her obituary. She served as a Workers’ Compensation Magistrate and was a member of the Workers’ Compensation Hall of Fame. Cooke also received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Polish American Legal Society for her 32 years of outstanding public service.

Blair’s sister Katherine also honored their late mother on Instagram, writing, “The most beautiful girl in the world…At least to us she was. … She was the incredibly witty and stylish mother of four girls whom she loved more than anything. We will miss her beyond measure.”
