“Hey everyone, surgery went amazing. I’m all good — I feel great now,” Lochte said in a social media video, according to People, with breathing tubes in his nose and eyes partially open.

On Sunday, Lochte’s wife, Kayla Rae Reid, spoke about the Olympian’s condition on her Instagram story.

“Everyone asking about Ryan, he’s still in the hospital. He’s doing okay, doing fine, I think. Still in some pain from the surgery,” Rae Reid told followers, also noting Lochte had a “very tiny, tiny hernia in his belly button area.”

Later in the day Sunday, Rae Reid — who married Lochte in 2018 — shared a video of the couple reuniting post-op.

“Look who’s home,”  Rae Reid said the video, to which Lochte said, “Yay, I made it.”

Appendicitis can occur when “the inside of an appendix is blocked,” according to John Hopkins Medicine, and can be “caused by various infections such as virus, bacteria, or parasites, in [one’s] digestive tract.”

A 12-time Olympic medalist, Lochte has endured trying times in recent years. In 2016, Lochte and three Olympic teammates falsely claimed they had been robbed at gunpoint while competing at the summer games in Rio de Janeiro. He was hit with a 10-month ban by the US Olympic Committee.

Two years later, Lochte was slapped with a 14-month suspension from the US Anti-Doping Agency for allegedly getting a “prohibited intravenous infusion,” which he denied. In late 2018, Lochte sought treatment for a “serious” addiction to alcohol.

Last month, Lochte told Page Six he may not have ended up as a married father of two had it not been for his swimming suspensions.

“I don’t have any regrets, because if that didn’t happen then I don’t know where I’d be, like I probably wouldn’t be married and I probably wouldn’t have kids,” Lochte said. “So I mean it was a way of someone saying, ‘Like, you need to slow down, and you need to get your life in hand.’”
