        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Rudy Gobert gave fans a peek into dealing with the coronavirus, which apparently in his case includes not being able to smell anything.</p><p>The Jazz forward, who was the first NBA player to test positive for COVID-19, on Sunday tweeted some of the effects he’s felt while self-quarantining.</p><p>“Just to give you guys an update, loss of smell and taste is definitely one of the symptoms, haven’t been able to smell anything for the last 4 days,” <a href="https://twitter.com/rudygobert27/status/1241811796891066368">Gobert wrote.</a> “Anyone experiencing the same thing?”</p><p>According to the British Association of Otorhinolaryngology — which represents ear, nose and throat specialists — the loss of taste and smell <strong>could be crucial warning signs in “hidden carriers”</strong> of the novel coronavirus, and often appears in patients who show none of the earlier known symptoms.</p><figure id="attachment_15351093" class="wp-caption alignnone aligncenter"><strong><noscript><img  data- data-src="/uploads/2020/03/rudy-gobert-1.jpg" class="lazyload" src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw=="><noscript><img  data-src="/uploads/2020/03/rudy-gobert-1.jpg"></noscript></noscript><img class="lazyload" src='data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=%22http://www.w3.org/2000/svg%22%20viewBox=%220%200%20210%20140%22%3E%3C/svg%3E' data- data-src="/uploads/2020/03/rudy-gobert-1.jpg"></strong><figcaption class="wp-caption-text"><span>Rudy Gobert</span><span class="credit">Getty Images</span></figcaption></figure><p>Gobert tested positive for coronavirus on March 12, which led to the the postponement of Utah’s game against the Thunder and the eventual suspension of the NBA season.</p><p>Nine other NBA players, <strong>including Gobert’s teammate Donovan Mitchell,</strong> have also tested positive for coronavirus.</p><p>Gobert has admitted to being “careless” after touching reporters’ recording devices prior to his positive test and “would have took this thing more seriously.”</p><p>Since then, the 27-year-old has publicly urged everyone to take precautionary measures. He also <strong>made a $500,000 donation</strong> to aid the fight against coronavirus.</p>]]></content:encoded>
