In a new interview with GQ, the two looked back at Rocky’s first-ever red carpet look at the 2012 BET Awards, with Rihanna, 32, not finding many kind things to say about her rumored boyfriend’s ensemble.

Describing his all-black outfit, Rocky, 31, called out his Hermès belt and Raf Simons-designed black button-up. “You don’t have to point out Hermès and Raf, this is you?” she teased. “Stop trying to make it sound dope.”

“Look at that handsome fella,” Rocky said.

“You could’ve used some Fenty Skin back then,” Rihanna quipped.

When asked which of Rihanna’s many iconic style choices was his favorite, Rocky surprised his “Fashion Killa” collaborator by choosing something from her own high-fashion Fenty clothing brand: the mint dress and sparkling holster the star wore to the British Fashion Awards this past January.

Rocky has served as one of the faces of the makeup mogul’s new skincare line, appearing in advertisements and discussing his own skincare routine.

Clearly, the rapper’s feelings weren’t hurt by Rihanna’s ribbing; he confessed that the hardest part of working with his former flame is keeping a straight face because she makes him laugh so much.
