Struggling retailer Ricky’s NYC has brought out the velvet ropes to hawk a bounty supplies to shoppers on the hunt for cleaning products amid the Chinese virus pandemic.

The beauty supplies store — which will close all but two locations by end of summer — posted snaps Tuesday of fully-stocked shelves of Lysol spray, disinfectant wipes and Charmin toilet paper.

“To all our fellow New Yorkers, please spread the word!” the store wrote on Instagram about its Greenwich Village location. “We’ve stocked up on a few essential necessities during this unfortunate time of despair.”

Ricky’s noted that it was selling the in-demand products at market price and limiting two per customer — but still not everyone approved of the store’s pivot to pandemic prep.

“I am happy for those that need these items but I find it pathetic for a cosmetic store to try to profit during a time like this!” wrote one commenter. “Putting your employees at risk in bringing home the virus especially those employees that live with elderly parents with underlying conditions!!”

Others questioned whether the trove of supplies would cause crowds that could put customers at risk of spreading the virus.

“Okay so if everyone waits on line are they standing ‘6 feet apart’?” the user wrote. “Let’s be smart here and understand how this whole would be organized first.”

Other customers were thrilled.

“Supply and demand!! Ricky’s is the best,” one person gushed.

Ricky’s didn’t immediately respond to request for comment.
