All 787 of the company’s theaters are expected to be up and running by July 10.

The move comes after cinemas worldwide have temporarily shut their doors due to the coronavirus pandemic, wreaking havoc on the industry financially. In the US alone, over 40,000 screens have dimmed under stay-at-home orders. The nearly four-month hiatus has been crippling for movie theaters owners like Cineworld and AMC, which has been fending off bankruptcy.

But last month, Cineworld said it rolled out a number of safety precautions in anticipation of a July opening, including limited seating.

On Tuesday, the company gave a definitive plan, in which theaters in the US and the UK will reopen on July 10. The company’s theaters in Czech Republic and Slovakia will open on June 26. Theaters in Poland and Bulgaria will reopen on July 3, followed by Israel, which will reopen on July 9.

“We are thrilled to be back and encouraged by recent surveys that show that many people have missed going to the movie theater,” said Cineworld boss Mooky Greidinger. “With a strong slate confirmed for the coming weeks, including among others Tenet, Mulan, A Quiet Place Part II, Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow, Bond, Soul, Top Gun Maverick and many more, the entire Cineworld team remains committed to being ‘the best place to watch a movie’.”

Last week, AMC said its planning to reopen all 1,000 theaters globally next month, as well.
