        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Any port in a storm!</p><p>Rapper YNW Melly has filed for restricted release from custody after testing positive for coronavirus <strong>while in Broward County Jail,</strong> his <a href="https://twitter.com/YNWMelly/status/1245872997627461632">Twitter announced</a> Thursday night.</p><p>Melly, née Jamell Demons, <strong>was arrested last February</strong> on two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the October 2018 killings of two other up-and-coming rappers: Christopher Thomas Jr., 19 (YNW Juvy), and Anthony Williams, 21 (YNW Sakchaser). He is <strong>facing the death penalty,</strong> pending trial.</p><p>While in custody, the 20-year-old <strong>was allegedly connected</strong> to the 2017 shooting of sheriff&#8217;s deputy Garry Chambliss. In April 2019, <strong>he announced plans</strong> to release a mixtape from jail.</p><p>In the announcement, Melly&#8217;s team says that they&#8217;re hoping the release will allow the rapper to find &#8220;better care due to any jails not being prepared to treat this new virus.</p><p>&#8220;He hopes for your support and to recover soon,&#8221; the message closes with.</p>]]></content:encoded>
