        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Prince William</strong> has become the first member of the royal family to address the coronavirus pandemic — calling it the crisis he “dreaded” would never come.</p><p>The 37-year-old Duke of Cambridge made his remarks in a somber <a href="https://twitter.com/KensingtonRoyal/status/1240325170939772933">online video announcing</a> that the UK’s <strong>National Emergencies Trust</strong> was officially stepping in to help those in need.</p><p>“I said at its launch last year that I dreaded the day when it would be needed. Sadly, with the outbreak of COVID-19, that day has come faster than any of us would have hoped,” William conceded.</p><p>“But now, more than ever, I am grateful that The National Emergencies Trust exists,” he insisted, saying it would “ensure that all our efforts to overcome this challenge are channeled in the best possible way.”</p>]]></content:encoded>
