“I got as close as you can get — just like testing the waters,” he said on “CBS Sunday Morning” of contemplating suicide, “Until I met the right treatments and met the right doctors and did all the work that you need to do to not feel that way, it got pretty dark and scary.”

In a scene from his forthcoming, semi-autobiographical movie, “The King of Staten Island,” Davidson drives with his eyes closed and nearly crashes.

“I used to do that,” Davidson, 26, said. “I used to close my eyes on a closed road usually at night and I would ride without a seatbelt.”

In December 2018, Davidson sparked panic on social media when he appeared to threaten suicide.

“I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore,” he wrote at the time. “I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer i can last. all I’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember I told you so.”

He ultimately deleted his Instagram account and entered rehab.

The “Saturday Night Live” star said writing and filming the Judd Apatow-directed movie was therapeutic for him.

“I really wanted this to be cleansing for me,” he said on the morning show. “I feel like I got to speak about it in the biggest way possible, and I could get my story out there, so I feel like now I could let it go.”

The comedian, who lives at home with his mom on Staten Island, said he had no immediate plans to move.

“Right now I really feel comfortable here,” he said.
