In an event at Lambeau Field on Thursday, Murphy described the disgruntled superstar quarterback as a “complicated fella,” according to multiple reports.

Murphy was referring to conversations he had with former general manager Ted Thompson, who held the title from 2005 to 2017 and died in January.

“[Thompson] often talked about Aaron, that he’s a … and it wasn’t just Aaron, a lot of different players. He would say ‘He’s a complicated fella,'” Murphy said. “So, I’ll just say that,” Murphy said.

Rodgers’ relationship with the Packers certainly has been complicated over the past few months, with the 37-year-old future Hall of Famer recently demanding a trade.

Green Bay has yet to oblige, which has led Rodgers to skip mandatory minicamp in protest.

Murphy last week also addressed the Rodgers situation in a question-and-answer column on the team’s official website.

“The situation we face with Aaron Rodgers has divided our fan base,” he wrote. “The emails and letters that I’ve received reflect this fact. As I wrote here last month, we remain committed to resolving things with Aaron and want him to be our quarterback in 2021 and beyond. We are working to resolve the situation and realize that the less both sides say publicly, the better.”

He may want to listen to his own advice.
