Olivia Munn says filming the 2016 movie “X-Men: Apocalypse” was far from a “normal” experience.

In an interview with Variety, the 39-year-old actress said that the film’s director, Bryan Singer, abruptly departed the Montreal set to deal with a “thyroid issue” — leaving the cast and crew bewildered.

“When we shot ‘X-Men,’ I never shot a huge movie like that before,” Munn said. “I didn’t know what was right or wrong, but I did know that it seems strange that Bryan Singer could check out and say he had a thyroid issue.”

“Instead of going to a doctor in Montreal, he said he had to go to LA. And he was gone for about 10 days is my recollection. And he said, ‘Continue. Keep filming,’” Munn said.

Singer’s publicist, however, told Page Six, “Bryan saw doctors in Montreal and then came back to see doctors in Los Angeles. And to the best of our recollection, it only affected two days of shooting.”

Munn said that during Singer’s alleged absence, “We’d come back from lunch and then one of Bryan’s assistants would come up and show us a cell phone with a text message on it … And he texted to the actors, ‘Hey guys. I’m busy right now. But just go ahead and start filming without me.’ And we’d be like, ‘OK.’ And I never thought any of it was normal, but I didn’t realize that other people also thought it wasn’t normal.”

Elsewhere in the Variety interview, Munn made the point that the studio then offered Singer the plum assignment of directing “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

“But this person is allowed to continue to go on,” Munn said. “Fox still gives him ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and then we all know what happened.”

During the filming of the Freddie Mercury biopic in 2017, Singer was fired for repeated absences and clashing with the film’s star, Rami Malek.

Meanwhile, Singer has had a slew of high-profile scandals in the recent past.

In 2019, The Atlantic published an article detailing underage sexual misconduct allegations against Singer. One of the men said he was a 13-year-old extra on the set of 1998’s “Apt Pupil” when Singer fondled his genitals. Singer’s attorney responded to the article, categorically denying the claims made by it and disputed the specific details noted throughout it.

In June of last year, it was revealed that Singer made a payment of $150,000 to a man who alleged in a 2017 case to have been sexually assaulted by him when he was a teen. In a statement to Variety, his lawyer said the settlement was not an admission of guilt by Singer.
