        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You gotta believe that Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard will see his landlord in court!</p><p>Syndergaard tried to set the record straight on Twitter Saturday in a heated dispute with his landlord — who claims the 27-year-old athlete <strong>failed to pay any rent</strong> on the $27,000-a-month Tribeca penthouse he signed up for.</p><p>The landlord is insisting Syndergaard honor the eight-month lease the hurler had signed in February.</p><p>“I fairly, and in good faith, offered to pay 2 months rent (over 50K) to a landlord for a place I was never going to step foot in due to a global pandemic that took a severe toll on the residents of NYC,” <a href="https://twitter.com/Noahsyndergaard/status/1264370322402234368" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Syndergaard began his Twitter missive</a>.</p><p>The Mets star, nicknamed Thor, said he gave timely notice so that the landlord of 116 Hudson St. could try to re-rent the three-bedroom duplex.</p><p>The landlord &#8212; countering that a contract is a contract &#8212; had filed a lawsuit against Syndergaard, who is recovering in a Florida rehab facility <strong>after undergoing a successful Tommy John surger</strong>y, it was revealed Friday.</p><p>The lawsuit seeks $250,000 for the full value of the lease.</p><p>“The landlord tries to extort me for 250K while leaking this story to the media, and I’m the bad guy? Yeah, ok. See you in court pal,” Syndergaard threatened Saturday.</p>]]></content:encoded>
