Amanda Kloots is embracing the “small little steps” in husband Nick Cordero‘s difficult recovery from coronavirus.

On Monday, Kloots said Cordero is “doing good,” revealing that the hospitalized Broadway star, 41, has opened his eyes — although they have not yet “connected to anything.”

“A quick Nick update before we go live, he is doing good,” Kloots began. “He’s in recovery today and things are going well, numbers on machines are going down, which is great. And we just still need him to wake up.”

Kloots added the “doctors are just hoping and praying that things start,” and how they need Cordero to “follow commands,” including looking left and right.

“So his eyes are opening up, unfortunately, they’re not connected to anything but small little steps,” she said.

Last week, Cordero underwent a tracheostomy procedure to help wean him off a ventilator. Kloots said Sunday the “Rock of Ages” star is “doing well,” adding, “His [ventilator] settings are down, which is good. That’s a really great sign that his breathing is going well.”

Cordero has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles since early April. Early in the month, he had his right leg amputated due to coronavirus complications.

In late April, Kloots revealed Cordero had tested negative twice for COVID-19, speculating the deadly virus could have left his system.

Cordero later endured another bump in his road to recovery, after Kloots revealed he’d developed an infection in his lungs.

Amid Cordero’s health battle, Kloots and the couple’s 10-month-old son, Elvis, have been living in pal Zach Braff’s guest house. His “Waitress” pals Sara Bareilles and Jesse Mueller have been helping to raise money to pay Cordero’s medical bills.
