Nick Cordero is continuing to make progress in his long battle against coronavirus.

On Sunday, wife Amanda Kloots, 38, told fans the hospitalized Broadway star is “doing okay,” days after he underwent a tracheostomy procedure to help remove him from a ventilator.

“I just wanted to give you a quick little Nick update,” Kloots said on her Instagram story. “He is doing okay. His [ventilator] settings are down, which is good. That’s a really great sign that his breathing is going well.”

“Yesterday was just basically a day of getting adjusted to the trach and seeing how he’s doing with it, and kind of leveling out these settings,” she continued. “He’s doing well, so I’m just hoping for another day of rest and recovery for Nick. I think the more days he has of this might help his brain to wake up.”

Cordero, 41, has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles since the beginning of April. Early in the month, he had his right leg amputated due to complications from COVID-19. In late April, Kloots said he tested negative twice for the novel virus, noting the lethal bug could be out of his system.

On Friday, Kloots reveled Cordero had been put “on the trach.” A tracheostomy procedure involves a hole being made in a person’s windpipe, or trachea, to insert an oxygen tube.

“We have been trying to do this for Nick for so many weeks now, and it just kept getting stalled and pushed back because of his health,” she said at the time.

<g stroke="none" stroke-width="1" fill="none" fill-rule="evenodd"><g transform="translate(-511.000000, -20.000000)" fill="#000000"><g></g></g></g>

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by AK! ⭐️ (@amandakloots) on May 3, 2020 at 5:15pm PDT

Kloots confirmed last week Cordero had developed an infection in his lungs.
