The 28-year-old real estate researcher, who on Friday was announced as the show’s first-ever black lead, suited up for the big reveal on “Good Morning America” wearing an item of clothing that should look very familiar to members of Bachelor Nation.

James sported the famous salmon jacket that went viral during Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette,” popping up on numerous contestants and even inspiring a song.

It’s likely James borrowed the blazer from his best friend Tyler Cameron, who appeared on Brown’s season and was spotted in the piece onscreen.

Cameron, 27, joined his pal for his “GMA” debut, and even posted a playful Instagram video revealing that James went pantsless for the TV appearance, wearing his pink jacket and dark blue button-up with nothing but a pair of boxers.

Fans of the show couldn’t get enough of James’ look. “If the salmon jacket doesn’t make it official, idk what does,” one person tweeted. Asked another, “Is it an Easter egg that @mattjames919 is in a salmon jacket for this announcement @TylerJCameron3?”

“The salmon jacket will live on forever,” joked Dylan Barbour, another contestant on Brown’s season.

On “GMA,” James called his casting “a step in the right direction” for the overwhelmingly white franchise, which in its history has only seen one other black lead: Rachel Lindsay, 2017’s “Bachelorette.”

ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke said in a statement that James was initially approached as a potential for Clare Crawley’s upcoming season of “The Bachelorette.”

“We know we have a responsibility to make sure the love stories we’re seeing onscreen are representative of the world we live in, and we are proudly in service to our audience,” the statement read.

“This is just the beginning, and we will continue to take action with regard to diversity issues on this franchise. We feel so privileged to have Matt as our first Black Bachelor and we cannot wait to embark on this journey with him.”

James’ season is expected to air next year.
