        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fans of Chadwick Boseman will have to wait a little longer to see his last movie.</p><p>Netflix has canceled a virtual preview event of &#8220;Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,&#8221; originally scheduled for Monday, in respect for the <strong>death of the talented actor</strong>, Deadline <strong>reported</strong>.</p><p>Boseman stars alongside Viola Davis and Colman Domingo in the film, which is based on August Wilson&#8217;s play.</p><p>A new date has not been set.</p><p>The &#8220;Back Panther&#8221; star died Friday at the age of 43 after a four-year, private fight with colon cancer, which had him in an out of surgeries and chemotherapy while filming some of his most iconic performances.</p><p>“We are heartbroken over today’s news of the passing of Chadwick Boseman, a ‘true fighter’ as his family called him in their poignant tribute,&#8221; Netflix said in a statement to Deadline.</p><p>&#8220;This is an incredible loss. We are canceling Monday’s preview event of Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Please join us in sending your thoughts to his family and loved ones.”</p><p>Monday&#8217;s feature was going to include footage of the movie and commentary from Davis and the film&#8217;s director, George C. Wolfe.</p><p>&#8220;Chadwick was a superhero on screen and in life, and it’s impossible to imagine working at the level he has while valiantly battling his illness,&#8221; said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Co-CEO in a statement.</p><p>&#8220;His legacy as a person and an artist will inspire millions. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time.&#8221;</p><p>Boseman has been praised for his commanding portrayals of black historical icons including Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshal. His death has lead to <strong>an outpouring of love</strong> from across the country.</p><p>Heartwarming anecdotes have immerged after Boseman&#8217;s passing, including that he <strong>visited terminally ill children</strong> while fighting cancer and that he <strong>married his longtime love</strong>, singer Taylor Simone Ledward before he died.</p>]]></content:encoded>
