The pop star, 27, has been rocking a “modern mullet” haircut by famed hairstylist Sally Hershberger for a while, but fans are now connecting her look to the one sported by the controversial former zoo operator.

“Miley Cyrus wants what Joe Exotic already HAS,” one person tweeted. “Miley Cyrus cut her own bangs and now she looks like Joe Exotic,” another said. A third joked, “Are we absolutely sure that Miley Cyrus isn’t Joe Exotic’s daughter? The people have a right to know.”

The parallels don’t stop at hair, however; Cyrus is also a lover of country music and fringe leather jackets, and has even been hosting a talk show called “Bright Minded” via Instagram Live every day, which some compared to the Tiger King’s now-defunct web show.

If Cyrus is interested in playing the part of the Oklahoma native, she has some competition. Dax Shepard, David Spade, Jared Leto and more have publicly declared their desire to don a mullet, while one expert threw in Margot Robbie’s name for the gig.

Kate McKinnon has already signed on to play Joe’s foil, Carole Baskin.
