She accessorized with a bandeau bra and matching underwear as well as opera-length gloves, and finished her glam-rock look with her now-signature mullet and red lipstick.

Then, for a pre-recorded performance of her newest single “Midnight Sky,” Cyrus bared it all once more in a black sparkling sheer minidress — the skirt of which she unclipped to reveal a pair a sparkling panties before she climbed atop a disco ball to recreate her 2013 “Wrecking Ball” music video.

The full-circle moment is particularly poignant; not only do the song’s powerful lyrics nod to her divorce from Liam Hemsworth as well as her breakups with Kaitlynn Carter (with whom she attended last year’s VMAs) and Cody Simpson, but the performance also nodded to her 2014 Video of the Year win for “Wrecking Ball,” Cyrus’ only Moon Person to date.
