WFAN will use its top hosts on weekends as it deals with the coronavirus. “Boomer & Gio,” “Moose & Maggie” and “Joe & Evan” will all work Saturday and Sunday shifts, while Mike Francesa will move a little more out of his semi-retirement with a four-hour slot.

Currently, Francesa only does a half hour on the FAN each day from 6-6:30 p.m.

The moves come as FAN cuts back on the use of part-timers, including Richard Neer and Chris Moore, as the station, like everyone else, deals with the fallout from the coronavirus. Neer will host a show this weekend, but not his usual Saturday program, as Neer wrote on Facebook, “for the foreseeable future.”

The WFAN weekend programming will be simulcast on CBS Sports Radio; both are owned by Entercom.

The weekend lineup will look like this:

Saturday: Joe Benigno (6-10 a.m.), Evan Roberts (10 a.m.-2 p.m.), Boomer Esiason & Gregg Giannotti (2-6 p.m.), John Jastremski (6 p.m.-10 p.m.), Steve Somers (10 p.m.-2 a.m.) and Sal Licata (2 a.m.-6 a.m.).

On Sundays, Francesa will be on from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. He will be followed by Damon Amendolara (1-4 p.m., who hosts a weekday morning show on CBS Sports Radio, then Moose & Maggie (4 p.m.-7 p.m.), while Jody McDonald (7 p.m.-10 p.m.) and Neer (10 p.m.-2 a.m.) will close out the night. Educational programs from Bob Salter and Rick Wolff will precede Francesa from 6 a.m.-9 a.m.

The Twitter feed, @BackAfterThis, which chronicles Francesa, first mentioned his new weekend show. Francesa also does a daily weekday show on Radio.com from 5-6 p.m.
