Marcus Stroman will at least net the Mets a draft pick upon departure.

The Mets plan to extend a qualifying offer to the veteran right-hander, according to an industry source, giving Stroman the option of returning for next season at $18.9 million. If the free agent rejects the offer, as expected, and signs with another team, the Mets would receive an additional draft pick in 2021.

Stroman, citing COVID-19 concerns, opted out of the season in August as he was nearing return from a left calf tear. The Mets acquired him at the trade deadline from the Blue Jays the previous season as insurance against Zack Wheeler departing through free agency.

Brad Brach exercised his player option for next season worth $2.075 million, a source confirmed. Dellin Betances is expected to exercise his player option for $6 million on Sunday.
