Clare Waight Keller is out at Givenchy.

The British designer, 49, is exiting after just three years, according to WWD. Over the course of her tenure, she catapulted the French fashion house to the forefront of pop culture, thanks to her strong relationship with Meghan Markle.

Keller not only designed the Duchess of Sussex’s dress for her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, but also dressed her on a regular basis for her royal duties.

Markle has been publicly supportive of Keller’s career, presenting her with the 2018 British Womenswear Designer of the Year award at the 2018 British Fashion Awards. Keller was later included in Time’s 100 Most Influential People list for 2019, with her work with Markle mentioned in the accompanying story.

A then-pregnant Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at the 2018 British Fashion Awards to present Clare Waight Keller with an award.Getty Images

Keller’s last Givenchy collection was shown at Paris Fashion Week in March. Due to her exit and the shutdown of factories as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Givenchy has canceled its women’s pre-spring collection and will not produce a fall 2020 couture collection.

Clare Waight Keller and Gal Gadot at the 2019 Met GalaGetty Images

Clare Waight Keller was the first woman to lead Givenchy since the fashion house was established in 1952.
