Xavier Cruz — master stylist at Manhattan men’s salon Barba — is teaching clients to cut hair online in what he’s dubbed the Quarancuts Virtual Hair School.

His first grad was Tony winner Billy Porter, who cut husband Adam Porter Smith’s locks with Cruz’s guidance.

“Billy did really well. He was nervous, so was I. He was my first student … we were both sweating. But he did a really good job … he’s a natural,” Cruz told Page Six podcast “We Hear.” “I’ve watched a few celebrities try to do their own hair … Again, they’re just like anyone else: If you don’t know what you’re doing, my suggestion is to find someone who does, and get a tutorial … I didn’t realize how difficult it is for people who don’t know hair to actually cut it! Was it Gwen Stefani [and Blake Shelton], did you see her try to cut his hair? It’s very scary. She gave him a mullet … I was cringing the entire time.”

He’s also advising women and warns, “I’ve seen some photos on [social media] with ladies trying to cut their own hair … Their bangs especially. And I find that a lot of them don’t know how to hold the scissor, or the comb, when they cut their bangs … A lot of times, they cut ‘above the knuckle,’ and it’s very short when they do that.”
