Marcus Stroman got so hyped up watching Steve Cohen’s introductory Mets press conference that he’s committed to playing for him.

Stroman wrote on Twitter that he is accepting the Mets’ one-year qualifying offer of $18.9 million, keeping him in Flushing after he opted out of the 2020 season over COVID-19 concerns.

“After watching the presser, I’m beyond excited to play for you sir. I could feel the excitement and passion you’re going to bring daily. Let’s go be great! @StevenACohen2,” Stroman wrote.

Stroman, 29, was acquired by since-fired Brodie Van Wagenen in a 2019 trade with the Blue Jays. In 11 starts with the Mets that year, the Long Island native had a 3.77 ERA.

Cohen seems thrilled with Stroman’s decision.

“Marcus, That is great news,” Cohen wrote on Twitter. “Looking forward to meeting you soon. I will call you over the next few days to thank you.”

Stroman will rejoin a Mets rotation that features Jacob deGrom and David Peterson. Noah Syndergaard is recovering from Tommy John surgery.
