A lawyer for shop owner Sasha Benz has fired off a cease and desist letter to the anonymous Instagram watchdog account, stating, “It appears that the sole purpose of your posts [is] to harass, annoy and to otherwise damage the name and reputation of [Wyld Blue] and its principals.”

The account began tracking Benz last month when a customer bought a pair of Chanel earrings, but later learned the baubles were fake after she had them authenticated. Benz admitted the snafu and said she was misled by a person who sold her the earrings. She refunded the woman’s money and said she’s now having items authenticated by a third party.

“I stand by everything we have in-store,” Benz told us. “It was one single, isolated incident that has been completely blown up.”

Benz claimed that the Instagram account is “bullying her.” But the account’s owner is brushing off the cease and desist as a “scare tactic.” “Every single thing I have posted is based on fact,” the site’s unnamed operator told us via direct message. “I have never bullied Sasha — she simply has no idea how to take responsibility.”

The account has also called into question the authenticity of a Chanel hair clip, Fendi earrings and a number of luxury bags, such as an Hermès Birkin bag and a Christian Dior tote.
