        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thanks to social distancing guidelines, he wasn&#8217;t in the room where it happened.</p><p>But <strong>Lin-Manuel Miranda</strong> managed to take part in a staff briefing at one of New York&#8217;s largest hospitals to thank its workers who are battling the city&#8217;s horrific COVID-19 outbreak.</p><p>New York Presbyterian&#8217;s executive vice president, Dr. Laura Forese, gives a live video briefing to the hospital system’s 47,000-plus employees daily, according to a press release, and Monday&#8217;s call included a recorded video message from Miranda, 40.</p><p>The &#8220;Hamilton&#8221; star said, &#8220;I know you all have families. I know you&#8217;re all putting yourselves on the line and you never asked for this. But you are heroes and you&#8217;re doing incredible work.&#8221;</p><p>He added, &#8220;I&#8217;m grateful for your service. New York City is grateful for your service.&#8221;</p><p>It wasn&#8217;t Miranda&#8217;s only good deed of late. He also appeared via Zoom on John Krasinski&#8217;s YouTube show, &#8220;Some Good News,&#8221; on Sunday night <strong>to surprise a 9-year-old girl</strong> who had tickets to see &#8220;Hamilton&#8221; on her birthday, but can&#8217;t go because of the lockdown. He was joined by some of the show&#8217;s original cast.</p>]]></content:encoded>
