        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Wednesday said the US was in a &#8220;deep review process&#8221; of a deal Oracle <strong>struck with the popular video-sharing app</strong> TikTok&#8217;s Chinese parent company.</p><p>Kudlow says &#8220;security and ownership&#8221; were important to President Trump in the review process.</p><p>Earlier Wednesday, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the Trump administration will make a decision soon on the proposed deal for Oracle to become a &#8220;trusted technology provider&#8221; for TikTok&#8217;s US operations.</p><p>“We’ll have a decision here in short order,” McEnany said. “I don’t want to get ahead of the president but obviously we care deeply about protecting the data and security of American citizens.”</p><p>Marco Rubio and five other Republican senators have <strong>called on the Trump administration to reject the deal</strong> if ties to Chinese owner Bytedance remain.</p>]]></content:encoded>
