The *NSYNC singer, 42, said on his “Daily Popcast” podcast  Wednesday that he told the reality personality before the start of the’s show most recent season that things he had been tweeting and the ways he had been acting were being perceived in a negative way — and that he better shape up.

Bass said that when the show first aired, he believed Taylor was trying to do better, but that it did not last.

“Wow, like on the show, Jax is looking great. Like, he looks reformed,” Bass said. “And all that past stuff of cheating and all that, you know, he’s got a great fiancée now. They’re getting married. He’s so pleasant to be around. Zero drama. Like, nothing. He changed. He turned his life around. And we all saw it, we all watched it, you know, on television.

“So, you know, I was happy to back him and believe in him I always want the best things for him,” Bass explained. “But then, this season started airing, and he reverted back to the same crap that he was spewing.”

As a result, Bass said that Taylor was “stepping down” from their drink mixer company, Just Add X, earlier this week after he tried to get the reality star to understand why some of his continuing behavior was offensive and ignorant.

Among his behavior, Taylor insinuated that his costar, Ariana Madix, is a lesbian, although she has spoken openly about her bisexuality, and he accused black cast member Faith Stowers of committing crimes that she was not a part of.

He and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, also hired a pastor who made anti-LBGTQ+ remarks to officiate their June 2019 wedding before Bass stepped in to do the honors. Bass later admitted on the podcast that he should not have participated in the wedding.

Then, Taylor, 40, recently made derogatory remarks regarding “90 Day Fiancé” star Ashley Smith’s husband, Jay Smith, commenting on her Instagram: “Your mans nose is the size of his head… [sic].”

Smith recently posted an alleged screenshot of her conversation with Taylor to her feed, in which he also commented: “Pathetic you are… I know everyone at tlc they all make fun of you.. you are poor white trash.. your daughter is in for a world of hurt cause her moms a complete fool. … even your dumb fiends have messaged me saying you want to be famous and your not smart.. your own friends I can’t wait to post this,,,,your own friends call you pathetic as well as the people on the show…. call me when your poor daughter or son. Needs rehab cause there mom is an idiot. And sweetie you have a fuppa… [sic].”

Bass affirmed that he does not harbor bad feelings towards Taylor although he does not agree with his recent behavior saying, saying: “I do not think Jax Taylor is a racist. Or a homophobe. And I’ve said that millions of times. I would not be acquaintances with someone if I thought you were a flat out racist or homophobe. It just doesn’t make sense.”
