So-called “King of Bachata” Romeo Santos acted more like a dictator when it came to child care, according to a lawsuit brought by his frazzled former nanny, who says he worked her into the ground without paying her a dime of overtime.

Marlene Jean-Louise says she regularly worked around 144 hours a week caring for the 39-year-old Latin superstar’s newborn son from March 2019 to March 2020 — but she was still only ever paid a flat rate of $350 per day, a Brooklyn Supreme Court lawsuit alleges.

“Notwithstanding Santos’ status as an international music star worth millions of dollars, defendants failed to pay [Jean-Louise] overtime,” the court papers from Tuesday charge.

Jean-Louise “developed a close bond” with the now-17-month-old boy, sleeping in his bedroom every night in the Bronx-native singer’s Nyack home, the court papers say.

But the Brooklyn nanny — who is in her mid-50s — never got more than five hours of uninterrupted sleep a night, nor breaks for meals, the suit alleges.

Jean-Louise “was required to be on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for the entirety of her employment,” the court documents claim.

Jean-Louise’s lawyer, Jon Bell, said that his client was fired in March because Santos’ girlfriend and baby mama Francelys Infante, 35, didn’t get along with Jean-Louise.

“It is unfortunate that a musician of his caliber and financial resources would take advantage of a loving and caring nanny that he entrusts with his son,” Bell said.

Jean-Louise is suing infante, Santos — whose given name is Anthony Santos — and his company Palabras de Romeo Entertainment, Inc for back pay and other unspecified damages.

Santos could not immediately be reached for comment.

Palabras de Romeo Entertainment and Infante separately did not immediately return requests for comment.
