Awk—ward.

After Kevin Durant completely dominated in the Nets’ 125-86 Game 2 win over the Bucks on Monday night, he was reminded of the worst injury of his career — which made for a cringeworthy moment on national television.

Following a 32-point performance, TNT’s Jared Greenberg reminded Durant that the two-year anniversary of the calf injury that led to an Achilles tear in the 2019 NBA Finals with the Warriors was approaching on Tuesday.

Durant actually suffered his calf strain on May 8 during the Western Conference semifinals before tearing his Achilles on June 10.

“I know you worked your butt off, but did you ever think you’d be this good?,” Greenberg said, referencing Durant’s stellar 2020-21 season.

“Is that a real question?” a stone-faced Durant said. “What do you want me to say to that? Of course I did.”

After Greenberg complimented Durant’s progress and current play, he loosened up a bit.

“That was two years ago,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to just getting up tomorrow, going to practice and watching film and seeing how we can get better. I appreciate that, but that was so long ago.”

Greenberg joked that he’ll come up with better questions in his next interview with Durant, to which the two-time champion laughed.

“Love,” Durant said before he walked off.

The Nets-Bucks Eastern Conference semifinals series continues with Game 3 on Thursday in Milwaukee at 7:30 p.m.
