Kara Keough Bosworth has gotten a tattoo in honor of her newborn son, McCoy, who died last month.

Kara, the daughter of former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Jeana Keough, got a small letter “M” inked on her arm — a place that reminds her of her final moments with her baby.

“Also feeling thankful for my new (first) tattoo, with my son’s ashes in the ink… so that my baby can be with me always,” she wrote on Instagram. “He can stay forever in my arms this way, in the place he last rested.”

In her new Instagram post, Kara, 32, also detailed the painful questions she’s been forced to field from those unaware of her loss.

“To the poor Shipt shopper who remarked ‘the baby should have been born by now, right?’ and the shocked insurance agent, and the others who didn’t mean to throw the grenades they did… when I say ‘It’s okay,’ I don’t mean ‘I’m okay,’ I’m saying I know you didn’t know … I’m just sad that the answer to your question isn’t what I hoped it would be.”

She continued, “It should be a joyful Q&A, not a landmine. It should be different. Instead, here I am, clutching a stuffed toy wishing it was a real boy.”

In the same photo, she also holds a special stuffed bear that weighs 11 pounds, 4 ounces — what McCoy weighed at birth — writing: “I can’t quite articulate how much carrying the exact weight of McCoy against my body grounds me.”

McCoy died on April 6 after he experienced a birth injury called shoulder dystocia, when the shoulders get stuck behind the mother’s pelvis, as well as a compressed umbilical cord.

Kara and her husband, 33-year-old Kyle Bosworth, are also the parents of a 4-year-old daughter named Decker.
