We’re told the rapper’s security guards were spotted outside Soho’s Mercer hotel on Wednesday at around 6:20 p.m., with a source saying they were there to “set up” and that West, 43, would be in New York “in a day or two.”

On Thursday afternoon, one of West’s security guards was seen coming out of The Mercer to go for a walk in the Manhattan neighborhood.

We’re told Kim Kardashian may not be accompanying her husband to New York. She is said to be staying in Los Angeles with their four children: North, 7, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 1.

Although there is speculation that West’s trip is related to a surprise appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 30 or to further promote his presidential run, a source told Page Six that West is likely to be putting the final touches on his upcoming tenth studio album, “Donda: With Child.”

Earlier this week, West was seen visiting a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta with Steve Harvey and the company’s owners, Dan and Bubba Cathy. A source told us Kardashian, 39, was not on that trip either.

However, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star was with West over the weekend to support the return of his Sunday Service at their ranch in Wyoming.

The couple are seemingly putting on a united front amid reports that they were working on their marriage at a Colorado resort recently, following West’s public outbursts amid what Kardashian said was a bipolar episode.

In addition to Twitter rants aimed at his family, in July the Yeezy CEO said in a highly emotional campaign rally speech that he and Kardashian had discussed terminating Kardashian’s pregnancy with their daughter North.

West has shown no signs of stopping his presidential campaign, despite not qualifying to be on several state ballots. On Aug. 10, he announced his presidential platform on a new campaign website and later dropped new “2020 Vision” merch.

A rep for West did not immediately return our request for comment. A rep for The Mercer said the hotel does not confirm or comment on guests.
