Laich, 36, has been isolating alone in Idaho with his dog Koda while the “Dancing With the Stars” champion, 31, remains in Los Angeles, though neither appears to be that bothered by the unusual arrangement.

“I’ve been on my own. My husband is in Idaho doing lots of yard work,” she said during an Instagram Live for Oprah Magazine, “and so we’re kind of doing our separate things right now, but it’s really been a magical time.”

Though she and her husband are miles apart with no end in sight, Hough maintained that she doesn’t feel “lonely” because of her tendency to be more of an introvert.

“I think in my 30s, I’ve always been around people, and I’m always trying to create and do a lot of things … but this is new, it’s a little different. I don’t feel lonely, but I definitely feel alone. I think there’s a big difference,” Hough explained. “I miss people a lot, I wanna hug them and talk to them, but I’m really enjoying this time where I can really connect to what’s really important in my life … ”

Laich shared similar sentiments on his podcast earlier this week, saying he misses connections with people but failed to mention his wife as one of them.

“I think I’m an introvert by nature. I love having my dog. If it wasn’t for my dog, I’d probably be a little more antsy with the isolation,” Laich said. “But I do miss the friendships and companionships where you do get to hug somebody and be in the same room.”

Hough and Laich, who married in Idaho 2017, have sparked speculation that their union is on the rocks. Hough stopped wearing her wedding ring around Christmas time and even has been spotted with “Westworld” actor Ben Barnes while her husband stays in Idaho.
