“It was one of the most absurd, unexpected statements that I have ever witnessed in my life, so yes, initially I did laugh because it was so strange,” Depp said during cross-examination at his explosive libel trial, the Daily Mail reported.

Depp had been sent photographs of the feces in their bed, the day after he and Heard celebrated her 30th birthday, in 2016. The cleaner had discovered the offending pile.

“Not sure I’ve laughed that hard for years. At least the photos are hilarious,” Depp allegedly wrote in a text message.

Sasha Wass — the lawyer for the newspaper Depp is suing — said the actor had made jokes after the incident, calling his wife “Amber Turd” and “Amber in the Dumps.”

Wass suggested that Boo, one of the couple’s two Yorkshire terriers, had “problems with her toilet habits.” But Depp countered that the dogs were “very well trained,” according to the Daily Mail.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor said in a previously written statement read in court that the actress or “possibly one of her friends” put the feces in their bed — and that Heard later claimed it was “just a harmless prank,” Britain’s Mirror reported.

He is suing The Sun over a 2018 article that called him a “wife-beater,” which he has vehemently denied — accusing his “sociopathic” ex-wife of all the violence in their marriage.
