The singer debuted a new platinum blond buzzcut on his Instagram Story on Wednesday. It’s unclear what sparked Jonas to make the big move, but he’s celebrated some major milestones recently.

Last week the star celebrated his 31st birthday, less than a month after welcoming his first child, a daughter named Willa, with wife Sophie Turner in July.

Quarantine restlessness could be an additional reason for Jonas to reach for the bleach; Kim Kardashian, Kaia Gerber, Dua Lipa and more celebrities have dyed their hair bright colors during the coronavirus pandemic. This isn’t the “Cool” singer’s first time experimenting with color, either; he’s tried his hand at shades of blue, red and a blond-pastel blend in the past.

Perhaps the new ‘do is a hint that Willa is sporting golden locks of her own.
