In honor of her 40th birthday on Friday, Jessica Simpson posted an Instagram photo rocking a pair of low-rise, light-wash ripped True Religion jeans she wore over a decade ago at age 26.

“I have kept these throwback True Religion jeans in my closet for 14 yrs (I’m not exaggerating!),” the singer captioned the pic on Thursday evening. “I figured that since I’m in the final hours of my 30’s I’d give them another try, and hello 40, so nice to meet you 🤸🏼‍♀️🙌🏼🥳.”

Several fans took to the comments section to say how incredible the pop star looked in her throwback denim.

“you’re such an itty bitty thing,” one fan said, adding, “but also, weren’t true religions just the best?”

Another wrote, “You look about 15 lady.”

Some shared their concern for Simpson’s apparent weight loss, suggesting that she looked “too skinny.”

“Ok go eat some guac now,” someone commented. “You are so beautiful but maybe a little to skinny now?!?” wrote another.

But others quickly jumped to Simpson’s defense. “Didn’t any of your mothers ever teach you if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all? All of you body shaming women should be ashamed of yourselves,” said a concerned fan.

The “With You” singer has been sharing her weight loss journey on social media, revealing that she lost 100 pounds in September 2019, six months after she gave birth to her third child Birdie Mae.

And the slimming-down didn’t stop there. In May, Simpson showed off her new rock-hard abs while wearing just leggings and a sports bra.

Simpson has been open about her struggle with body image. In February, she revealed how heartbroken she felt after her notorious “mom jeans” photos circulated in 2009.

In her memoir, “Open Book,” Simpson said that after the media bullied her over the photos, “a dysmorphia set in” that destroyed her confidence.

Now, the hot mother of three is redefining what “mom jeans” really are.
