Jennifer Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez participated in a Black Lives Matter protest on Sunday in Los Angeles in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

Lopez, 50, shared clips on Instagram and how her 12-year-old twins, Max and Emme, played a role in the day’s events.

“Today I had Emme and Max make me and Alex a sign for the protest,” Lopez shared. “Max told me a few days ago: ‘you know mom, since you have a following like some of my YouTuber gamers and they ask us to support things and we do, you should do that for George Floyd.’ I said, ‘funny you say that baby, I am planning a few things. Do you want to help by making a sign?’ And they did!!”

In the clip, Lopez and Rodriguez, 44, can be seen holding signs that read “BLM Enough Is Enough” and “Let’s Get Loud for Black Lives Matter.”

Lopez also opened up about recent conversations she’s had with son Max and daughter Emme about racial injustice.

“We talked about how if one person doesn’t have justice then no one does,” Lopez explained. “That this country was built on the belief of freedom and justice for all. We must take a stand for what we believe in and fight against the injustices in this world. So we continue to peacefully protest until there is change. #BlackLivesMatter #GetLoud #CallingAllMamas #TeachThemYoung @arod.”

Rodriguez, who has been engaged to Lopez since March 2019, also shared a collection of photos from the march with his 3.8 million Instagram followers.

“Los Angeles, we are proud to join you in peaceful protest tonight. We are proud to walk alongside you, and to share in spreading such an important message. Thank you for speaking up. Thank you for continuing to fight the good fight. Thank for you using your voices for good,” he wrote Sunday.

Protests have been taking place across the country following Floyd’s death last month. He died after former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes. Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter and will make his first appearance in court Monday.
