        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Jared Leto is bringing Andy Warhol&#8217;s silver wig to the silver screen.</p><p>The 48-year-old Oscar winner confirmed <strong>via Instagram</strong> that he is slated to play the iconic artist in an upcoming movie.</p><p>“Yes, it’s true that I will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming film,” he wrote.&nbsp;“And so grateful and excited about this opportunity.”</p><p>The post honored Warhol for what would have been his 92nd birthday. “We miss you and your genius,” Leto wrote alongside a series of photos of the artist, who died in 1987 at the age of 58.</p><p>A rep for Leto confirmed to Page Six on Friday that what the star posted on Instagram is accurate.</p><p><strong>It was reported</strong> in 2016 that Leto — an art school dropout — was slated to star in and co-produce the biopic &#8220;Warhol.&#8221; But it&#8217;s unclear whether Leto&#8217;s new post refers to the same film.</p><p>Warhol has inspired previous film depictions, including David Bowie&#8217;s portrayal of him in the 1996 film &#8220;Basquiat.&#8221;</p>]]></content:encoded>
