Former Jets safety Jamal Adams couldn’t resist taking a shot at his former squad after his stellar debut as a Seahawk while clapping back at Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

“I wasn’t bored,” Adams told the media after Sunday’s win over Atlanta with a smirk. “I was blitzing. I was having fun.”

In August, Williams said the All-Pro defensive back would be “bored” playing in Seattle’s system after the team’s messy divorce. Adams was dealt to the Seahawks after demanding a trade in July the midst of a highly publicized fallout with the team in exchange for two first-round picks (2021, 2022), a 2021 third-round pick and safety Bradley McDougald.

“Defensively, you couldn’t help but watch Jamal Adams,” Seattle’s head coach Pete Carroll said. “He was all over the place. He had 12 or so tackles and a sack and was close on a couple others and just made some beautiful plays, tackles and hits and pressures and all of that. He’s an extraordinary football player.”

The Seahawks electric offense piled on a whopping 38 points against the Falcons’ porous secondary and quarterback Russell Wilson completed 31 of 35 attempts for 322 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. The effort was a far cry from the Jets’, who averaged 17.2 points on offense last season (31st in the NFL) and looked equally inert in their 27-17 Week 1 loss to the Bills.

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams sacks Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt RyanGetty Images

“I’m not used to it,” Adams said in reference to the number of points scored while taking a not-so-subtle jab at Gang Green. “It’s exciting. It’s exciting to know when we do come off the field we can make our adjustments, catch a breather.

“For Russ to go out there and do what he do, what he’s always done, I’m just happy to be a part of this organization, man, and these guys are telling me they’re happy I’m here. But I’m really happy I’m here, man. I just see so much talent, so much great success coming our way. As long as we just continue to keep our head down and continue to strive.”

Adams was selected sixth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft from LSU. He is a two-time Pro-Bowler and has 13 career sacks, six forced fumbles and two interceptions.

“He is such an energetic personality,” Carroll said. “He’s got so much fire in him and he’s an incredible competitor. Does it rub off? Yes. I’m so thrilled he’s on our team and we got him. Not just for the play but what else he brings and how he affects other people, and he’ll continue to do that.”

Adams and the Seahawks will take on the Patriots in Week 2 at home on “Sunday Night Football.”
