The social network is also extending its requirement that employees work from home through the end of May, and will permit employees who don’t feel comfortable coming in to work remotely “through at least the summer.”

“A small percent of our critical employees who can’t work remotely, like content reviewers working on counter-terrorism or suicide and self-harm prevention, and engineers working on complex hardware, may be able to return sooner, but overall, we don’t expect to have everyone back in our offices for some time,” Zuckerberg said in a post on his Facebook page.

Alongside its decision to not hold events of more than 50 people until June of next year, Facebook is also banning business travel until this June as well.

Facebook in late February canceled its annual F8 developers conference as the virus was beginning to spread around the globe.

The annual Facebook show is usually held in late April or early May in the San Francisco area.

More than 5,000 people from around the world attended last year’s F8.
