Elon Musk is still backing Kanye West for president despite tweeting that they may have “differences of opinion” following a wild interview the rapper gave to Forbes.

Musk exclusively told Page Six: “Kanye explained afterward some of the reasoning behind why he said what he said. It makes more sense than many people, including me, realized.”

He continued, “I have not dropped my support for Kanye, although I think 2024 would be better than 2020.”

When asked to elaborate on why he is endorsing West and why 2024 would be better, the Tesla founder was cryptic.

“Brevity is the sole meunière of wheat,” he told us.

On July Fourth, Musk tweeted in response to West’s announcement of his presidential bid, “You have my full support!”

But then West gave a controversial interview in which he claimed vaccines are “the mark of the beast” and that Planned Parenthood was “placed inside cities by white supremacists.”

Musk then tweeted, “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated.”

He did not clarify what portions of the article he did not agree with.

The SpaceX founder, whose girlfriend Grimes gave birth to son X Æ A-Xii in May, does seem to be enjoying fatherhood for the seventh time.

“Babies are so cool,” he tells us.
