In a press release on Friday, the company based in Shelton, Connecticut, said that it "has not received any adverse events related to this recall" and that "daily exposure to benzene in the recalled products would not be expected to cause adverse health effects."

The company said that the products being recalled have expiration dates of December 2022, February 2023, and April 2024. Banana Boat also said that people who bought the recalled products will get their money back.

According to the FDA release, no other batches made before or after the dates listed were affected, and the recall does not include any other Banana Boat sunscreen.

The FDA says that people who buy Banana Boat's Hair and Scalp sunscreen should "immediately stop using the affected product and throw it away in the right way."
