        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Now there are two more reasons to love <strong>Dolly Parton</strong>.</p><p>On Wednesday, the 74-year-old performer <a href="https://twitter.com/DollyParton?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor">announced on Twitter</a> than she is making a generous donation to Vanderbilt University to help further the research for a coronavirus cure.</p><p>“I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations,” Parton, wrote.</p><p>“My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure.”</p><p>And in another Dolly dispatch, the &#8220;9 to 5&#8221; singer will soon be helping put your children to bed.</p><p>Starting Thursday, April 2, Parton will begin reading&nbsp; bedtime stories to kids in a new virtual series called “<strong>Goodnight with Dolly.</strong>” Each week the “Steel Magnolias” star will read a book from the Imagination Library — her book gifting program which sends free books to children.</p><p>&#8220;This is something I have been wanting to do for quite a while, but the timing never felt quite right,&#8221; Parton <strong>said in a statement on the program&#8217;s website</strong>. &#8220;I think it is pretty clear that now is the time to share a story and to share some love.” The first book that she’ll be reading is the classic tale, “The Little Engine That Could.”</p>]]></content:encoded>
