Fashion’s furiously changing amid the pandemic.

Diane von Furstenberg’s famed line has laid off 75 percent of its staff of 400, and will close 18 of its 19 stores according to Business of Fashion. Her Meatpacking District flagship will remain open, where DVF also has offices.

Meanwhile, Page Six has learned that luxe e-tailer Moda Operandi laid off 29 percent of its staff, according to insiders. Staffers were “notified via a virtual town hall [that] every person would receive an e-mail by [end of day] stating if they were spared or laid off,” said a source — who also claimed that the subsequent e-mails were addressed “ ‘Dear employee’ … not even personalized.”

But a rep commented: “There is still significant uncertainty about the length of the COVID pandemic and the depth of impact it could have … We have decided to reduce the size of our talented workforce. It was a difficult decision, but one that will ensure we can continue to deliver on the expectations of our customers, now, and in the future.”

The brand announced it was shutting its men’s division in April, while DVF is supposedly moving to a “digital-only, China-focused” model.
