If there is an NFL season, it looks like there won’t be any holdout for Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys quarterback is planning to sign his franchise tag tender by Monday, ESPN reported Sunday, locking in a $31.4 million salary for 2020 unless the two sides can agree to a new deal by July 15.

Signing the tender contractually obligates Prescott to report to training camp, assuming it goes on as scheduled without the coronavirus pandemic deciding otherwise.

Prescott has been seeking a long-term extension, but the reported hangup is over years, not money. According to multiple reports, the 26-year-old wants a four-year contract while the Cowboys want a longer deal.

Dak PrescottGetty Images

The Cowboys placed the exclusive franchise tag on Prescott in March, ensuring that no other team could offer the two-time Pro Bowler a contract.
