The “Today” show host, 46, took the plunge on live television on Wednesday morning and buzzed off his hair while his kids watched — and co-hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin and Al Roker cringed.

However, Daly’s DIY ‘do did not end in disaster, partially thanks to celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton coaching him through the process. Appleton is famous for working with Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Dua Lipa and more.

The host also had some help from 11-year-old son Jack, who bravely buzzed the back of his head as Daly described his overgrown look as “very bushy, very Michael Landon-y.”

The star later posted a doctored photo on his Instagram showing with a totally bald look; in reality, Daly simply wound up with a shorter version of his previous style.
