        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Duchess of Cornwall is reading for a good cause.</p><p>Camilla Parker-Bowles joined Taika Waititi&#8217;s reading of Roald Dahl&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>James and the Giant Peach</strong>&#8221; on Wednesday, alongside Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad. The 72-year-old royal played The Ship’s Captain in her first-ever character role.</p><p>&#8220;Holy cats! Send a message to the Queen at once!&#8221; she read from the iconic children&#8217;s book. &#8220;The country must be warned!&#8221;</p><p>The Roald Dahl&#8217;s Story Company has been putting on the star-studded reading to support charities impacted by COVID-19, including Partners in Health and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s charity.</p><p>&#8220;I hope this campaign will raise vital funds to support those most in need at this very challenging time – as well as helping families and children currently in lockdown to find a moment of comfort through the joy of reading,&#8221; she said in a rare statement.</p><p>Other celebrities who have participated already included Meryl Streep, Liam and Chris Hemsworth and Eddie Redmayne.</p>]]></content:encoded>
