On Wednesday, attorneys for the 38-year-old pop star filed court documents, obtained by Page Six, opposing her father Jamie Spears’ attempt to seal parts of her ongoing conservatorship case. The “Toxic” singer argued in the documents that her children have no medical or sensitive issues that should be protected, so future hearings don’t have to be shielded from the public.

“… Britney herself is vehemently opposed to this effort by her father to keep her legal struggle hidden away in the closet as a family secret,” the lawyer states in the documents.

The documents also allude to the #FreeBritney movement, which claims Jamie has taken control of her assets.

“Far from being a conspiracy theory or a ‘joke’ as James [Jamie] reportedly told the media, in large part this scrutiny is a reasonable and even predictable result of James’ aggressive use of the sealing procedure over the years to minimize the amount of meaningful information made available to the public,” the documents continue.

Jamie has denied the allegations, saying “I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year. How the hell would I steal something?”

Spears’ attorney said he couldn’t comment on a pending case.

The “Lucky” singer also recently asked the court to appoint Bessemer Trust Company, N.A. to serve as conservator of her estate, which she described as a “voluntary conservatorship,” instead of her dad.
